Describe what is a critique.

 

A critique is when a person offers reasoned judgements or analysis or observation.

2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique.

The four stages of a critique are introduction, summary, analysis and evaluation. You can add a conclusion but that is optional.



3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

A critique can be positive. It really depends on what the article is about and if it is positive or negative.


4. Critique the accuracy of the following articles:



The Beijing Olympics: Are They A Trap?


A lot of people contributed to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing so it can get American athletes. The video is saying that the Chinese people are digging holes and filling it with branches to capture American athletes but they dont have any sort of evidence. In other words they are making it up and its their own opinion which would be biased. The audience would believe this news which is not even true.


 



2-Year-Old Donkey Called Up To Pro Donkey Basketball League

 

This article shows that a donkey has been chosen to play basketball. This story is belieble as they show evididence such as small clips and pictures. On the other hand, the reporters exxagerated too much about it. The donkey wasnt playing a real competition but it was playing for a small fundraiser.

Fibre optic technology offers many advantages when used in medical applications.

 

a.     Describe how optical fibre may be used in medical applications.

Optical fibres may be used in medical applications like an endoscope because its provides doctors with the images in the body magnified.

b.    Identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace.

They might replace a magnifiying glass or the equipments used to see in a human body.

c.    Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medicine. 

The benefits of using fibre optic technology to medicine is so the doctors can see if there is any infection or diseases in a human body.

2. Describe one media account of this issue.

 

 One media account of this issue is that the impact of poverty on people in rural Wales is not fully appreciated by the Government.

 

3. Where did you get this media account from?

 

I got my media account from the internet. The website is www.newswales.co.uk.


4. Is this media account correct or reliable? Why?

 

This media account is not reliable because it is written in first person and it is the writers opinion. One of the paragraph begins with ‘I believe’.

5. Where else might you be able to find more information about this issue?

 

You might be able to find more information about this issue from other social justice news article and newspapers.

1. Describe TWO things that you have learnt during this lesson.

The two things I have learnt this lesson is that trust your group members and make sure everyone has a copy of the work.

2. Identify TWO areas you want to concentrate on during this project that you think need a greater improvement from the last project.

The two areas that i want to concentrate on during this project is my presentation and communication within group.

3. Discuss TWO ways in which your group could resolve any disputes during this process.

The two ways in which my group could resolve and dispute during this process is by trusting each other and allocating equal number of tasks to each other.

Journal Entry 6 – Final reflection

1. How well did your group work? Our group worked pretty good but we didnt finish researching on one art period because one person in our group wasnt pulling his weight.

2. Would you work with the same group of students again? Why? I would not because i want to work with different people so I would get to know more people in my class.

3. How much effort did you put into this project?  What could you have done better? I put a fair amount of effort it took me a long time to find the Early Church artwork. I should of asked a group member for a bit of help so I could of finished the project earlier and helped the other group members.

4. Do you think your final wikispace was your best work? Why? I think that the final wikispace is my best work because I have uploaded my work properly because i know that the teachers are going to check it.

5. What did you think of the project when you received it? Why? I was confused and I didnt want to do the project because I wasnt good at photoshop.

6. What do you think of the project now you have completed it? Why? I liked this project because now I’m better in photoshop and I can show the way I see Jesus.

7. What did you like in the project? Why? I liked creating an artwork of Jesus the way i see Him.

8. What did you not like in the project? Why? I did not like bookmarking things on diigo because i think it is a waste of time.

9. How can the teachers make your next project better? Teachers can make our next project interesting by making us understand our need to know list properly and showing us some examples.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?

Our image has not changed during the project because we decided to stick with our plan.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?

I feel that the best way to potray an image of Jesus is to show his suffering so when people look at that image, they should realise that Jesus suffered so much for us so we should do something in return.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?

I have enjoyed researching different images of Jesus.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature ) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why?

The form of medium that allows me to best connect with Jesus is a sad and quite music because it shows the suffering of Jesus.
2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?

Jesus has been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history because he has sacraficed his life for us.

3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?

Jesus is portrayed at Parramatta Marist because of his good values which help us be good people. If anyone is in trouble, they can pray to Jesus for peace.

4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?

I think that the Renaissance time period best reperents Jesus because the renaissance was a time of great artists painting religious artworks such as the Last Supper. 

5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?

 

I like this represention because it shows that Jesus can see what we are doing on Earth so if we commit a crime, Jesus would know.

6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.

The factors that currently shape my image of Jesus is that Jess is controlling the universe. People are scared to commit a crime because they want to go to heaven and if they do commit a crime, Jesus can see that.

I think that the Phonix will find details of Mars such as if there is any life, and find soils and rocks on Mars.

I think as a planet we should be researching other planets so if anything happens to Earth we would know what planet we can go to.

What contribution did the following scientists make towards the big bang theory?

 

Walter Adams- he knew the age of the universe by looking at the distsants of the stars.

 

  Ralph Alpher- he made the first attempt to calculate the abundance of elements created in the hot early universe and also predicted the temperature of the radiation left over from the Big Bang. 

 

Robert Dicke- he established the importance of the measurements of Arno Penziaz and Robert Wilson in terms of the cosmic microwave background.

 

Journal 1- THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

Q1.) What was Hubble’s involvement in space research?

 He studied the poistions of the dark lines within the spectrum of light emitted by a star or galaxy and deduced whether they are moving towards or away from us, and at what speed.

 

Q2.)  What does the telescope do?

 The Hubble telescope allows it to take extremely sharp images with almost no background light outside the Earth’s atmosphere.

 

Q3.) Where can the telescope be found?

 The telescope can be found in the Low Earth orbit.

 

Q4.) What is Hubble’s law?

 The stars and galaxies are going away from us. The further they are, the faster they are going.
